App Description

I’m delighted to welcome you to our website. I hope that this site will provide you with helpful information about the school; its curriculum, and the procedures that we operate. Please let us know if you think that anything else could be included. The last few years at Sheringham have been full of challenge and excitement. We have grown from a Junior School with 12 classes into a Primary School with 23. At the same time we had a significant building programme, leading to our fantastic new premises of which we are very proud. Communication between yourselves and the school is vital. Every Friday we send home a newsletter on our distinctive green paper. The newsletter includes news about visits, reminders about school dates, and reports from children. All our other letters or brochures will also go out on a Friday wherever possible. Please remember to ask your children for it every Friday, or if you prefer you can download it from our website under News and Events. Our motto at Sheringham is ‘Learning in Harmony’. This is not just a ‘strapline’ but an illustration of how our school operates. We believe that children work best when learning together, and that it is important everyone in the organisation values everyone else, and that we, as staff, are also always learning – striving to be the best school that we can be. In July 2012 Ofsted visited us and graded us as Outstanding once again, this is recognition of how well everyone at Sheringham works together. In September 2014 we joined JFK Special Schools as founder members of the Learning in Harmony Multi Academy Trust, and in September 2015 we will be joined by Upton Cross Primary School. Working together as a trust helps us to make the best use of resources, and share and develop ideas to allow us to do the best possible job for the children in our schools. As well as being Executive Head Teacher at Sheringham I am also Chief Executive Officer of the trust. Ms McClay, as Acting Principal of the School, is in day to day charge of the school working with the two Deputy Heads, Mr Hinchliffe and Ms Sewell. We all work together to make sure that your child’s time at the school is a happy and successful one. Please do let any of us know any concerns or suggestions for improvement that you have, to help us to continue our never ending learning journey.
