The station was founded in Chicago, Illinois in 2006, by DJ Gerald Anthony who was a prominent house DJ & on -air personality on the historical WKKC Community College Radio Station. Through his love for music and the culture; it was evident that broadcasting would remain a major part of his life. With a great deal of hard work and dedication, World Vibe Radio was created and went live streaming to computers, cell phones and homes all over the world.
WVRO has maintained a top tier ranking among stations within the genre as well as overall since its inception.
