App Description

The ongoing death of migrants at seas is one of the worst human crises of our time. Search and rescue operations are being carried out to reduce the loss of life, but that’s not enough when compared to the vastness of the sea. That is why Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS) developed this app to crowd source the search of seas for migrants by giving access to the satellite image of the routes they take.

How it works
• First, the app divides the satellite image of the sea into millions of small plots
• Once you download, the app assigns you a unique plot of the sea to monitor
• On spotting a migrant ship, with a simple tab, you can tag and report it
• This information, along with the coordinates, is passed to MOAS ships to carrying out search and rescue operations.
