App Description

ZEISS Connect runs on iPad and connects to a surgical microscope wirelessly for:

- Communicating and educating patients, assistants and peers
- Standardizing video and image documentation workflows
- Patient management
- Optimizing settings for recording videos and images
- Editing videos and images
- Controlling illumination and camera on the microscope
- Push and pull patient data from an archiving solution (DICOM/NAS/ Sidexis 4)

The app is NOT aimed for:
- Replacing patient information systems / picture archiving systems (PACS)
- Providing true to reality live images that can be used for diagnostic purposes
- Providing measurements on which decisions can be based

Intended Use:
ZEISS Connect connects with the ZEISS EXTARO 300 model of the surgical microscope. This mobile application is intended to be used for supporting the documentation workflow in combination with a connected microscope. The app helps to acquire, display, edit, store and distribute images and videos. In addition, illumination and camera settings of the connected microscope can be controlled from within the app. Information captured and stored by the app are for viewing and reference purpose only and are not intended for primary diagnosis.
