In Virtual City Playground, the city you start off running is limited to a 13x14 square space. To gain additional space to expand your city, city credits and invest points must be spent on expansions. Every time an expansion is bought, the price of the next expansion increases. No matter the size and shape of an expansion, their cost will always be the same as all other expansions currently available. Each expansion normally comes with an "Urban expansion" goal competion reward, which is usually energy.
