Intake from Cipher Prime Coming to iPad May 1: Catch the Recap of Our Exclusive Premiere Twitch Stream

Cipher Prime's Inake is coming to iPad on May 1, as exclusively revealed yesterday on our Twitch channel.

This dubstep-fueled action-puzzle game is, according to William Stallwood of Cipher Prime, who joined up for the stream, pretty much a straight-up port of the PC version - in a sense. Some tweaks have been made to the game that will come to the PC version on May 1 as well, but ultimately it's the same game with the same content. The difference is in the way it's played: the game supports full multitouch controls on the iPad, so it's a new approach to a familiar game.

On our latest Twitch stream, we'll be playing a pair of minimalist arcade games, one that just got a big content update in Pivvot, and another that was inspired by it in 15 Coins. Whitaker Trebella, creator of Pivvot, will discuss the new modes added to the game and the challenges of designing them. As well, Engaging Games' Blake Johnson will discuss his studio's own 15 Coins, and how games like Pivvot helped inspire it.

An upcoming update to Gameloft's Asphalt 8: Airborne is going to be cram-packed with new content including new streaming features, six new tracks at a new location, new cars, and more.

With this update comes the announcement that Gameloft is partnering with Twitch to make Asphalt 8: Airborne the very first mobile game to feature the service's game streaming functionality. You'll be able to broadcast and share your in-game footage as well as your voice and image to the world via this new update. Also included is the new asian-inspired "Great Wall" location, new cars including the 2014 McLaren P1, the Ferrari Testarossa, the Dodge Challenger, the mighty 2014 Ford F-150, and to top it off, 30 new events across all 8 seasons.

Tonight, Crescent Moon Games releases their Metroidvania-meets-Minecraft adventure game, Mines of Mars. Featuring procedurally-generated 2D worlds, players must dig through Mars to try and discover the secrets beneath it. Josh Presseisen, founder of Crescent Moon Games, joined me on 148Apps Live on Twitch to discuss the game's origins, how Crescent Moon's publishing helped shape the title into something radically different from a year ago, and how PC gamers approach titles in totally different ways from mobile gamers.

Arash Keshmirian of Limbic Software joined me, Carter Dotson, to chat about TowerMadness 2 while I played. He discussed the surprise release, how the rise of free-to-play monetization has affected the way that players see challenges in games now, and he gives plenty of helpful tips to beat the game's harder levels.
