In need of a simple but effective video recording and editing tool? Kinomatic should have you covered suitably well. It’s an app that dispenses with the potential shallowness of filters, focusing instead on good quality video recording. It won’t break the bank, either.

Diving straight into the experience, with only an overlay required to explain what everything does, Kinomatic is simple to learn. Taking a video is just a matter of hitting the record button and going nuts. You can adjust the exposure, lock the focus, set camera stabilisation and so forth, through a series of icons at the top of the screen.

kinomatic2kinomatic4The beauty of Kinomatic is with its editing tools. You can piece together a series of short clips, with the app quickly editing everything together. Trimming clips is just as simple to do, taking seconds to master. Also, you can add your own audio clips such as a piece of music from your library or simply a voice over, with a tap of a button. Adjusting the audio levels is just as simple to figure out. Finally, it’s possible to add captions easily enough with multiple titles possible for those wanting to show off. There’s a simple interface behind all this, so it’s easy to put together short montages, along with your favorite piece of music. I had great fun collecting up clips of my guinea pigs running around, interspersed with a musical clip from Mary Poppins’ ‘Let’s Go Fly A Kite’.

It’s powerful yet simple to use stuff, with sharing options including Vimeo, Facebook, and email. Sealing the deal, Kinomatic is quite the convenient video recording and editing app. It’s one that’s sure to prove useful during the summer months, while collecting up precious memories.
