Ever since I found myself transfixed by Wayne and Garth’s adventures in creating their own personal rock-a-palooza, I wondered what it would be like to start one of my own. Reality being what it is, coupled with me being barely in my teens at the time, meant that it wasn’t something I could actually do. At least it wasn’t. Now that Chillingo is getting ready to release Pocket Festival that young man’s dream can very much become a reality. Okay a virtual reality but sometimes you take what you can get.
Pocket Festival puts players in charge of their own personal Lollapalooza, Woodstock, Warped Tour, or whatever else they might want to call it. They can build tents for concert goers. They construct the stages and book the bands. They pick up litter for experience points (!!). And, as expected, more experience unlocks more gear, which can be purchased with coins and used to earn more coins to buy more gear. Most notably there are also daily quests that are changed, you guessed it, daily and offer players a number of rewards for various tasks.
This freemium rock-fest will be available soon. And you won’t even have to wait in line for a week to get tickets!
