So you've had a look at our guide on how to stay massive in slither.io and thought, "hang on a second, how do I stay alive long enough to even get to that point?"

It's a perfectly valid question, and there's no one-size-fits-all solution, sadly. But if you're continually getting killed, you might need to rethink how you're moving around the world.

To that end, we have a few movement styles and tips to make sure you're ready to dodge a slithery opponent when you get in a bit of a jam.

The Squiggle

If there's one thing no-one expects, it's for you to play slither.io as if you were actually a snake wandering around a barren, black landscape.

Real snakes don't just travel straight forward, and instead slither back and forth in an S-shape. Which, as it happens, is pretty handy here too.

It gives you more time to react to snakes coming into your path if you're constantly changing direction, and it looks kinda cool too.

The U-Turn

If you're bearing down on a huge wall of enemy snake and need to make a quick escape, you can tap somewhere behind your snake to make it do a sharp turn.

Doing so ahead of time gives you a better shot of getting out of the way as well, and throwing in a dash straight after can make it even more effective.

The Beserker

Dashing does have its disadvantages, but it also scares the heck out of other players. If you get into a tight spot, just start dashing around like a madman.

Other players won't know how to react to the unpredictability and will start to get out of your way, giving you more room to breathe before picking off any stragglers too stupid to leave the area.
