How to be a huge jerk in slither.io

Unless you have the patience of a saint and the reflexes of a ninja, you're going to have a hard time becoming one of the bigger snakes on the board in slither.io.

And you may notice that some of the bigger snakes are busy destroying the competition, eating up all the dots, and, well, just generally being jerks.

Well, as the old saying goes, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. So here's a few tips on how to be just like them, if that's what you want.

Bide your time

Your snake is initially tiny, and while, with a bit of luck, you can still take out the competition, you're going to run into a lot of trouble.

Avoid getting into any fights in the early stages, and just focus on eating the dots and growing your snake so you can be a real annoyance later on.

Keep your friends close…

When your opponents die, they leave behind a huge pile of dots waiting to be munched up by any passers-by.

Stick close to other snakes if you can, and wait for their untimely demise before diving in and eating up their remains. It's all the reward without the effort.

Dash around

If you double-tap the screen, your snake will start dashing forwards much faster than anything else on screen.

Use this to your advantage by pulling up alongside another snake, following them for a bit, and then dashing ahead and cutting them off for a sneaky kill.

Ensnare your enemies

You can't die from hitting yourself, and can loop round to make an inescapable wall of death for any unsuspecting snake.

Find a smaller snake, and start moving in a circle until they're completely surrounded. With nowhere else to go, they'll have to crash into you and die.
