Nitrome just launched a new game and, as to be expected, it's a lot of addictive fun. It's called Gopogo, and it challenges you to hoparound a bunch of platforms, avoiding enemies and picking up shiny stuff.

It's not easy though - just like the retro platformers that inspired it.

But don't worry about all that because, as ever, 148Apps has got you covered. Carry on reading to learn how to bounce like the best of them.

Learn to bounce

You'll be doing a lot of bouncing in Gopogo so it's in your best interests to figure out how to do it properly.

Now, bouncing itself is automatic but you can control how far you travel when you bounce by sliding your finger in the direction you want to move. The more you slide, the further you go.

We'd advise you to move quite slowly when you're uncertain of what lies ahead or you're figuring out your next step. That way you can react easily to potential dangers on the way.

Plan ahead

Planning is everything in Gopogo and you should be thinking about your next move between each bounce.

When you've played for a while and understand the mechanics inside out you may get by on your skill but new players should keep an eye on what's coming next to try and avoid or bounce over to it.

A good tip is to straighten up the pogo between each bounce so you can buy yourself time - or at least slow down in cases when stopping is impossible.

Patience is key.

Money is everything

Want to unlock new characters or get extra lives? It'll cost you. Yes, money is the aim of the game in Gopogo so you should try and grab as much of it as possible.

The best way to earn cash is to play endless mode where the rewards - and failures - are much more plentiful.

You'll also pick up a bunch of extra lives along the way, and it's a good way to both practice and get an early look at what you'll be facing in the later, more challenging levels.
