Sword of Fargoal is dungeon crawling RPG Roguelike with a retro feel that we looked at a while back. It features a random map generator that allows players to have a different exploration experience every time.
We told you a few weeks ago that Sword of Fargoal 2 had popped up on Kickstarter. This sequel to one of our favorite retro games on iOS has reached the half way point of their goal.
They have gotten plenty of press along the way, but could use some more help getting to their goal. We'd love to see it make it all the way and get to play Sword of Fargoal 2. With just 5 days to go, they are going to need your help! Keep on pledging, tweeting, and telling your friends about it!

For all you Sword of Fargoal fans out there, a new update is out for the iPhone and iPad. The new update has more artifacts, more wands, new maps, new levels, new spells, new treasures, better graphics, and more. Whew... that's a lot.
In our correspondence, we've also learned that future updates will include even more maps, monsters, NPC's, treasures, and spells. Also being worked on are new character classes that will be available through in-app purchase. "For example, a Ranger, Thief, and Magic User — each with their own strengths and weaknesses and possible ranged weapons like bow and arrow, knives, and wands."
Way down the line, due to the difficulty of the upgrade, are completely customizable dungeons. "One of them will be the original C64 version dungeon skin, but others might be from other contributing artists. Don't look for this any time soon though because there is a lot we have to do to prepare for this feature."
Download the update as soon as possible to get all your new goodies. Enjoy the game video in the meantime!
Sword of Fargoal marries traditional, unforgiving dungeon crawling with a surprisingly accessible feel. The resulting game feels like it was made for the iPhone; you'd never guess that it's over twenty years old! This is a treat for veterans and newcomers
