Max Awesome Review

Many of us have daydreamed about being a stuntman when we were younger, but of course for the majority of us that plan never came to fruition. But fret not, as with Chillingo's latest entry into the App Store players are invited to play some of the wildest, most dangerous stunts to hit the App Store!

In Max Awesome, players will be doing some of the zaniest and most mind-boggling stunts they've ever seen, but rather than risking injury themselves as would be the case if they were to do it in real life, players can dish out all the pain on Max Awesome, stuntman extraordinaire!

I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I had a great time playing Max Awesome. The fun graphics, easy to pick up but difficult to master game play and general zaniness of some of the levels really do make this game excellent. Players will notice that the game is customizable--they can easily style Max Awesome thanks to an absolutely massive collection of different costumes he can be dressed up in.

I found the level builder to be quite difficult to use sometimes. It may be because of the sheer amount of different options and combinations available all whilst being jammed onto a small iPhone screen, but I did find it difficult to place some elements inside the game. Also, as I progressed through the game, I did find some of the levels to be a bit repetitive; with the built-in level builder players needn't fret much about this, however.

As I said above, Max Awesome has an in-built level builder, and when it works right - it truly is excellent. Even though the amount of levels built-in with the game is more than reasonable, if a player enjoyed the game as much as I did, they're bound to finish them at an extremely fast rate and so creating their own levels can be a great solution. There is also the ability to challenge your Facebook friends in order to see who's the better stuntman. I found this worked quite well and I'm looking forward to seeing if my friends will be able to beat my (reasonably abysmal) scores.

Overall, Max Awesome is without a doubt a worthy holder of a place on my home screen. With its zany collection of stunts, quirky graphics, amazing level builder, and customisation abilities it truly is a pleasure to play!
