Pokémon GO prepares for a week of adventure

Pokémon GOis celebrating its continued success with Adventure Week, set to begin at 1:00 P.M. PDT on May 18 and run until 1:00 P.M. PDT on May 25. Niantic Labs revealed that the collective& Pokémon GO playerbase has logged over 15.8 billion kilometers. That's a crazy number, so clearly it's time to celebrate.

Pokémon GO wants players to embrace their spirit of adventure. Rare fossil-type Pokémon including Omanyte, Kabuto, and Aerodactyl and their evolved forms will be more common in the wild. Pokéballs are also 50% off in the store for the duration of the event, and extra PokéStop rewards give added incentive to get out and explore. Your Buddy will also gather Candies at four times the normal rate.

Those participating in Adventure Week will also be treated to the Adventurer's Hat avatar item.

This is certainly a more interesting event than the Bloom celebration, although that event only lasted a few days. Adventure Week, on the other hand, is shaping up to be both a great opportunity to head out and enjoy the lovely weather and collect some rare, hard-to-catch Pokémon.
