Well, after some, frankly, disappointing updates to Pokémon GO, fans are finally getting what they've always wanted - 80 brand new Pokémon, likely from Generation II. We'll be able to catch the Johto region starters--Totodile, Chicorita, and Cyndaquil--along with Pokémon like Bellossom and the new Eeveelutions, Espeon and Umbreon.

You'll also now be able to catch gender-specific Pokémon. Could that mean breeding is a new feature we'll be seeing down the line? We'll have to wait to find out if that one's in the cards, but for now we have new evolutions for some of the original 151 Pokémon (we're thinking Pokémon like Scyther's awesome evolved form, Scizor) that you can obtain using special Evolution items. You can get these items by spinning the discs at PokéStops.

Niantic is introducing a few new features, too, that will add some much needed depth to the gameplay. Pokémon will now react in different ways when you're trying to capture them, so stay on your toes. Players will also be able to find new berries, which they can toss to Pokémon to slow their reaction times or increase the amount of Candy you receive with a successful catch.

And, you might be excited to learn there will be some new cosmetic features as well. Yes, you'll finally be able to dress up your avatar so you can go out and sling Pokéballs in style.

Which Pokémon are you most excited to see in the new update? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
