These possess an architectural-historic patrimony that abounds in valuable monuments, such as the 13th-century Cathedral, the Roman amphitheatre with its remarkable ruins, Piazza Grande with its medieval towers, the Vasari Loggia, the Palace of the Fraternity of Lay Brothers, and the apse of the Parish Church of Santa Maria.
Arezzo is also the custodian of artistic masterpieces such as the frescoes by Piero della Francesca in the main chapel of the Basilica of San Francesco and the Cross painted by Cimabue in the Basilica of San Domenico, as well as of some of the finest traditions that our country can offer: the Saracen Jousting Tournament, for instance.
