App Description

The Urban Youth Nation (“UYN”) app is a social networking and micro‐blogging mobile application developed for public interest by URBAN YOUTH WORKERS INSTITUTE (UYWI). UYWI is a national non‐profit organization that trains & resources urban youth workers to effectively evangelize and disciple youth in at‐risk zip codes throughout the US. We train, develop and disciple urban leaders to ensure they have the tools necessary to be effective role models for youth. This app allows youth leaders, youth pastors and other leaders to create an interconnected community of urban youth workers who are impacting their communities for Christ. Users can post and view “streams” of information about what youth leaders are doing in their “tribes” (areas of ministry). Through this app youth workers will have the ability to create, join and filter their streams by tribe so that they can connect and communicate with other ministry leaders who are doing the same type of ministry as them. The app also provides youth workers with access to UYWI blogs, trainings and video devotionals as well as to scripture engagement through a partnership with American Bible Society (“ABS”).
