About Tim McCreight
Tim McCreight is a designer, teacher, author, and goldsmith. He received a degree in fine arts from The College of Wooster and an MFA in jewelry and silversmithing from Bowling Green State University. He taught fulltime for 25 years, first at the Worcester Center for Crafts and then at Maine College of Art.
Along the way he has taught hundreds of workshops throughout the US and in Canada, Japan, Mexico, and the UK.
About This App
The success of McCreight's previous videos comes largely from his wealth of information and relaxed presentation. Both are on display again in his latest video, Forging Basics. True to the name, this highly instructive video focuses on the fundamentals of moving metal with a hammer.
Through a half dozen exercises and three finished samples, he leads viewers on an impassioned survey of what can be done with a striking tool. Chapters include Tools, Strategies, and Finishing.
