Figure painting is a form of traditional Chinese painting that takes people as objects and uses lines as modeling methods. It takes up an important position among the three traditional Chinese painting styles. Figure painting, once painted on colored pottery, gradually developed into an independent painting style in later ages.
There are many famous figure paintings, like “the Admonitions Scroll”, “the Painting of Lady Guoguo on a Spring Outing”, “the Golden Beach”, etc. Each work represented the essence of a certain historical time, and also contained the painter’s unutterable emotion.
