The scripture, Jeremiah 29:11, has been foundational to the formation and history of New Hope Community Church (now New Destiny Praise and Worship Center). In 1999, Pastor and First Lady Ogletree sensed a call and movement of God that would take them beyond their comfort level of ministry to a place of meeting the needs of a community. They were invited to participate in a church planting institute designed to equip and inform potential church planters, not realizing that God was calling them to organize and plant a new church. As they began to pray for direction, God impressed upon their hearts to “write the vision” as He directed them. By the end of 1999, the vision of New Hope Community Church was birthed and on February 27, 2000, the first meeting was held in the Ogletree home. From that meeting, 19 core members embraced the vision for New Hope Community Church.
