This app provides the 2013-14 aircraft ground de/anti-icing fluid holdover times (HOTs) and related guidance as published by Transport Canada, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Association of European Airlines (AEA).

The app has two functionalities: the PDF viewer allows navigation of HOT guidance documents in individual PDF files (i.e. HOT tables, visibility table, LOUTs); and the HOT calculator calculates HOTs for current conditions based on weather and fluid information entered by the user.

Other Features:

• HOT CLOCK: Shows time elapsed since fluid application; progress bar and traffic light indicate status of HOT.

• GUIDANCE MATERIALS: App contains related HOT guidance materials, i.e. ice pellets allowance times, fluid application tables, visibility table, and related regulatory documents (Transport Canada TP 14052E, FAA N8900.196, AEA Recommendations for De-Icing/Anti-Icing Aeroplanes on the Ground).

• LOUTs: The holdover time calculator incorporates lowest operational use temperatures (LOUTs) for Type II, III and IV fluids as provided by FAA and Transport Canada.

• NO INTERNET CONNECTION REQUIRED: The app stores all data on your device so a connection to the internet is not required to use the app.
