What's New

V1.4.3
Bug fix - correction of homepage version #

V1.4.2
This update incorporates supplemental holdover time (HOT) guidance published by the FAA (in the document "FAA Holdover Time Guidelines Addendum 1") and Transport Canada (in AC 700-040 "Supplemental Holdover Timetables and Regression Information for SAE Type II and IV Fluids"). The supplemental documents provide updated snow HOTs for Type II and Type IV fluids at temperatures below -14°C. As per FAA and Transport Canada guidance, these HOTs override the HOTs previously published in the Holdover Time Guidelines Original Issue documents.

App Description

The Winter 2016-17 APS Holdover Times App is here!

This app contains the 2016-17 aircraft ground de/anti-icing fluid holdover times (HOTs) and related guidance as published by Transport Canada, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Association of European Airlines (AEA).

HOT info is accessible in two functionalities: the HOT Calculator calculates HOTs for current conditions based on weather/fluid info entered by the user and the PDF Viewer allows navigation of HOT guidance documents in individual PDF files.

NEW:

• New/updated content incorporated from 2016-17 guidance materials and publications
• 90% adjusted tables for Transport Canada (90% tables continue to be available for FAA)
• Updated training materials (found in More Tab -> Training / Help)
• Improved structure in the PDF Viewer

KEY FEATURES:

• DUAL FUNCTIONALITY: HOT Calculator and PDF Viewer.

• HOT CLOCK: Shows time elapsed since fluid application; progress bar and traffic light indicate status of HOT.

• DEFAULT AUTHORITY: Select your authority in the settings tab and see only data from that authority in the PDF Viewer and HOT Calculator. For FAA and Transport Canada select either standard or 90% adjusted tables.

• CHANGEABLE SETTINGS: Customize your authority, HOT table type (standard or 90% adjusted), HOT alerts (lower, upper, both) and time zone (local or UTC).

• LOUTs: The holdover time calculator incorporates lowest operational use temperatures (LOUTs) for Type II, III and IV fluids as provided by FAA and Transport Canada.

• NO INTERNET CONNECTION REQUIRED: The app stores all data on your device so a connection to the internet is not required.

Developed by APS Aviation Inc., the company responsible for developing and managing the holdover time table data on behalf of Transport Canada and the FAA for the last two decades.

This app can be customized for individual operator/airline use. Contact us for more information.
