App Description
This is a genuine TEXTBOOK-REPLACING app, with over 13 HOURS OF VIDEOS covering more than 660 slides of highly detailed, up-to-date information, which is explained in an interesting and humourous way.
Accessible and comprehensive, these 63 VIDEOS are not simply a basic overview of the course. They EXPLAIN THE ENTIRE COURSE, including every Learn About and Learn To, as well as covering each of the Themes and Challenges in the syllabus.
The app also comes with a large SET OF ACTIVITIES for the whole course and a sample schedule of learning, which can be copied to your iDevice for printing or emailing. It also includes a colour-coded version of the syllabus, so you can keep track of where you are up to and what you need to do with the information you are learning.
The app is so comprehensive, in fact, that it is being used for DISTANCE EDUCATION and ACCELERATION COURSES for students unable to have frequent contact with their teacher.
Teachers are also planning to use the app to “flip” their classroom by letting students watch the videos at home and then use their class time for activities and questions. The videos are far more likely to be watched than any textbook is to be read by students at home.
The app uses the same VIDEO/VOICEOVER TECHNIQUE used in the HSC Legal Studies Apps, which directly assisted HSC students to rank in the TOP 10 of Legal Studies in 2012. It also helped many students move up from a Band 1 to Bands 3 and 4.
All the videos and documents are INCLUDED IN THE DOWNLOAD, so the original download is enormous, but it solves the issue of having to load videos from the internet (which, with many school networks, simply would not work). This means that learning is truly portable, not just within the reach of a strong network signal.
NOTE: This app is authorised for student and teacher PERSONAL USE ONLY. TEACHERS ARE NOT AUTHORISED to use the app with multiple students.
