App Description
All Around My World is a collection of four age-appropriate stories written by Libby Rush, renowned speech pathologist and literacy expert. These stories have been written to support the literacy and learning of persons with complex communication needs. In addition, each of the stories are illustrated using the SymbolStix® picture symbol set in order to promote reading comprehension and assist the user with applying meaning to the story text.
The four stories are:
•A Magical Ride
•The Lost Cell Phone
•Going On A Treasure Hunt
•Band Leader, Band Leader Where Are You Going?
Features include:
•Automatic reading of the story
•Navigate using the navigation bar or swipe gestures
•Tap an individual word to have it highlighted and read aloud
•Tap a story symbol to have the corresponding word highlighted and read aloud
•Includes a memory style match game to promote carryover of vocabulary
