App Description

This application for the iPod/iPhone is a fun game with an important message. It has been designed to inform people about the lack of resources and difficulties that people face living in underdeveloped countries affected by war. The aim of the game is to collect the points needed to go up to another level in just one minute. There are about exciting 50 levels, becoming increasingly more challenging.
Your task is to rapidly move two people, who are holding a basket, around the screen in order to catch or avoid objects which are dropping from above. Helicopters drop four different useful resources which you need to catch: health aid (a box with a red cross), food aid (a box with a beef-steak), water aid (a tank), communication aid (radio). In addition three dangerous objects will also appear: bombs, mines and poisonous snakes, which you need to avoid. You will gain points by catching the useful object but will lose points if the dangerous objects hit you!
This application has been created by three tenth grade students from the International School of Milan as part of an International Baccalaureate project to help the community. Each student was responsible for a different aspect of the design process: graphics, music and programming. The aim of this project is to raise awareness of global problems and of the charity organizations who are working hard to help people who are living in these war affected areas, often without basic human rights.
