As security measures increases, so does ways to avoid detection, in 2010 the x-ray backscatter body scanner was installed as a tool to scrutinize even further the people entering a plane. These scanners have raised a lot of attention towards the TSA due to the detailed body images it shows to the screener agents. If you refuse to go through it, you will be subjected to a pat down, these methods are considered by many to be offensive, disrespectful and even unconstitutional.
