गरुड़ पुराण हिंदी में यहाँ उपलब्ध है।

गरूड़पुराण' में उन्नीस हजार श्लोक कहे जाते हैं, किन्तु वर्तमान समय में उपलब्ध पाण्डुलिपियों में लगभग आठ हजार श्लोक ही मिलते हैं। गरुडपुराण के दो भाग हैं- पूर्वखण्ड तथा उत्तरखण्ड। पूर्वखण्ड में २२९ अध्याय हैं (कुछ पाण्डुलिपियों में २४० से २४३ तक अध्याय मिलते हैं)। उत्तरखण्ड में अलग-अलग पाण्डुलिपियों में अध्यायों की सख्या ३४ से लेकर ४९ तक है। उत्तरखण्ड को प्रायः 'प्रेतखण्ड' या 'प्रेतकल्प' कहा जाता है। इस प्रकार गरुणपुराण का लगभग ९० प्रतिशत सामग्री पूर्वखण्ड में है और केवल १० प्रतिशत सामग्री उत्तरखण्ड में। पूर्वखण्ड में विविध प्रकार के विषयों का समावेश है जो जीव और जीवन से सम्बन्धित हैं। प्रेतखण्ड मुख्यतः मृत्यु के पश्चात जीव की गति एवं उससे जुड़े हुए कर्मकाण्डों से सम्बन्धित है।

सम्भवतः गरुणपुराण की रचना अग्निपुराण के बाद हुई। इस पुराण की सामग्री वैसी नहीं है जैसा पुराण के लिए भारतीय साहित्य में वर्णित है। इस पुराण में वर्णित जानकारी गरुड़ ने विष्णु भगवान से सुनी और फिर कश्यप ऋषि को सुनाई।

पहले भाग में विष्णु भक्ति और उपासना की विधियों का उल्लेख है तथा मृत्यु के उपरान्त प्रायः 'गरूड़ पुराण' के श्रवण का प्रावधान है। दूसरे भाग में प्रेत कल्प का विस्तार से वर्णन करते हुए विभिन्न नरकों में जीव के पड़ने का वृत्तान्त है। इसमें मरने के बाद मनुष्य की क्या गति होती है, उसका किस प्रकार की योनियों में जन्म होता है, प्रेत योनि से मुक्त कैसे पाई जा सकती है, श्राद्ध और पितृ कर्म किस तरह करने चाहिए तथा नरकों के दारूण दुख से कैसे मोक्ष प्राप्त किया जा सकता है, आदि का विस्तारपूर्वक वर्णन प्राप्त होता है।

The Garuda Purana is one of 18 Mahāpurāṇ of texts in Hinduism. It is a part of the Vaishnavism literature corpus, primarily centering around the Hindu god Vishnu. Composed in Sanskrit and is also available in various languages like Gujarati and English. The earliest version of the text may have been composed in the first millennium BCE, but it was likely expanded and changed over a long period of time.

The Garuda Purana text is known in many versions, contains 15000+ verses. Its chapters encyclopedically deal with a highly diverse collection of topics. The final chapters discuss how to practice Yoga (Samkhya and Advaita types), personal development, and the benefits of self-knowledge.
