App Description

Hydrostatic Pressure Calculator is a physics/math calculator used to find hydrostatic pressure at a certain depth quickly and easily.

Features:
- Instant calculation
- Results are copyable to other apps
- Formulas are included as references
- Supports up to 16 decimal places
- Supports various units for each input

Hydrostatic Pressure is the pressure exerted by a fluid at equilibrium at a given point within the fluid, due to the force of gravity. Hydrostatic pressure increases in proportion to depth measured from the surface because of the increasing weight of fluid exerting downward force from above.

Each particle of a liquid is subjected to a gravitational force directed towards the Earth. The deeper it is located, the more particles are above it, resulting in higher fluid pressure. The value of hydrostatic pressure does not depend on the size and shape of the tank, but only on the depth. Therefore, the same hydrostatic pressure will be present in a huge swimming pool and a thin pipe, provided they have the same height.

Hydrostatic pressure formula:

p = ρ * g * h

where:
p - hydrostatic pressure
ρ - density of fluid
g - gravitational acceleration (the average value for Earth is g = 9.80655 m/s²)
h - depth
