App Description
CAPTURE is the companion app to the film of the same name. The capture app recognizes events in the film while you watch! Have the app running while watching the movie, and it responds to the film audio. This app is best experienced with the phone volume up and vibration enabled.
Background info:
On 4 September 2013, a phone was found on the Hong Kong MTR containing strange and graphic footage, including the apparent murder of a group of friends. It was turned over to the Hong Kong authorities, but the investigation has stalled as many people associated with the videos have gone missing. The controversial footage has been alternately classified as a prank, a hoax, or a true supernatural occurrence. Some believe it is associated with the Hong Kong urban legend of an evil spirit who captures and consumes your soul. Other evidence points to practices associated with traditional Chinese black magic, 蠱 (pronounced “Gu”).
The Hong Kong police department is now releasing the footage and accompanying app in the hopes of obtaining more information about these unresolved disappearances. If you have any information regarding the events portrayed, please contact us:
