Mind Your Ps and Qs
The brand new app from the Alan Peat team! Mind Your Ps and Qs is a piece of writing with a limited number of ascenders and descenders.
The app has three main sections,
(1) 'Set the Rules' - decide how many ascenders and descenders you will allow to be used in the piece of writing.
(2) 'Random Game' - to make this section of the app as interesting as possible we have added over 100 titles, some of which are traditional tales (e.g. Cinderella; Little Red Riding Hood etc) whilst others are wide-ranging topics like 'Space'; 'Toys'; 'Electricity' etc. Children may need to research the topic or read the book before completing the Mind Your Ps and Qs writing task - this is a deliberate aspect of the app.
(3) 'Empty Game' - the children are given a free reign to write what they (or you) want. Just make sure you keep an eye on those ascenders and descenders!
There is the option to print and email.
It's a great new app for developing writing!
