There are also several museums that tell an interesting history dating back to the Viking Age and from the time when Skåne was actually Danish! Let your children experience a real Viking village, or attack a classic medieval castle with water-filled moats, or enjoy a majestic meal in silence on a grand castle, or let the whole family enjoy the sunset at Ale‘s Stones, or ... well, the list goes on and on! Scania has something to offer for everyone!

“Popular historic sites and museums in Southern Sweden” is an application where you in an clear and easy way can get information about the most interesting palaces, castles and manors as well as numerous other places worth visiting like museums, national parks, botanical gardens, etc. The application includes the most interesting places where both children and adults get an extraordinary experience!

You can sort the sites, either alphabetically or by distance from your current position. This makes it easy for you to see what is close at hand for an “impulse visit”. Each location is presented with beautiful images and information that gives you a taste of what to expect and in many cases a link to the site‘s home page where you can get further information on opening hours etc. All sites have GPS coordinates that you can easily read, or copy, and enter into a navigation system for easy guidance to the site. If you are not located in Skåne when you plan your visit, do not worry! Choose a reference position from a long list of places near the place where you will stay during your stay in Scania and see what that is close from this position.
