App Description

KanjiApp is a Japanese learning application for iPhone by Ici Japon.
Remember quickly and efficiently kanjis thanks to mnemonic illustrations !

OUR METHOD
Mastering kanji requires many years of learning and practicing. That is why having a good memorization technique is essential.
Our memory works with associations. An information is easier to remember if it is linked to a familiar concept.
KanjiApp uses a simple mnemonic technique that associates Japanese characters with original illustrations. It helps you remember the kanji easily, and forever. It makes you save time by making your learning less tedious !

108 ILLUSTRATED CARDS
Originally, kanjis were graphical representations of objects or terms.
Their shapes evolved with the time, so nowadays it is impossible to see the link between the shape of the drawing and its meaning.
We made the same process the other way around. Starting from kanjis, we created related and representative drawings to help you to remember even the hardest characters!

KanjiApp, contains 103 kanjis of JLPT5 and also some additional kanjis that will ease your learning.

Pronunciation and vocabulary
Each card is completed with a "pronunciation" part, as well as a useful vocabulary list.

Character Stoke
Each kanji-card, sends you to the animated stroke of the character. Do you have Notes or an own mnemonic? Add it in the field reserved for it!

VOCABULARY
Extend your knowledge
KanjiApp also works like a small dictionary.
Each kanji you learn is linked to a vocabulary list. Each word is described in detail on an additional page. You can see its pronunciation, its meaning, an example sentence, and the kanjis composing it.
In this way, you can see the kanjis in their daily use, and enrich your vocabulary.

Searching tool
Find any kanji or vocabulary via the English/Japanese searching tool.

Quiz
The quiz allows you to review the kanjis, but also the vocabulary.

3 QUIZ LEVELS
Once you've seen trough all the cards, test your knowledge with our quiz!
There are 3 difficulty levels:

Easy
10 questions: find the given kanji's translation, or the inverse! The kanjis in this level are quite simple.
They are those that you will remember reading the cards at first.

Not so easy
20 questions: find the given kanji's translation, or the inverse!
Watch out, some vocabulary are hiding between the kanjis!
Will you deduce the word's meaning, thanks to the kanjis that composes it?
Repeat this test again and again until you hit the perfect score!
Take a look at the kanjis you struggle the most with, within the statistic part and train again!

Hard
20 questions: now that you know by heart the meaning and pronunciation of all the kanji-cards,
you should be able to guess the meaning of a lot of vocabulary!
Watch out, go review your hiragana if you did not master it. This test is not a joke.
You will be asked to link a kanji with its translation in romaji or its pronunciation in hiragana.
Sometimes you will be asked the opposite. Otherwise, it's too easy.

PERSONAL GALLERY
Evaluate yourself!
You can categorize the kanji-cards at anytime depending on your knowledge level.
By doing so, you can take a look only at the cards you want to review!

Accelerate your review
This list is linked to your answers to the quiz! If you mistake on a kanji, it will automatically be placed in your "to review" kanji list.
In this way, KanjiApp helps you to be aware of your capabilities and your learning gap, and eases your review!
