In order to please them people burn packs of counterfeit banknotes, clothes and even household appliances. Thus they "pass" money or other things to the afterworld. Hungry ghosts are fed, they are shown films, opera and theater performances. By nightfall floating flashlights and boats with burning candles are launched so that the lost souls can find a way back to their world...
