We've been sifting through the App Store to find the best ways to do computer tasks on a tablet. That gave us a thought - what if we could just do computer tasks from our tablets?

Here's a list of the best remote desktop apps to help you use your computer on the go.

The best

TeamViewer for Remote Control

iPhone App - Designed for iPhone, compatible with iPad
Released: 2010-03-03 :: Category: Game

FREE!

The best remote desktop app out there is Teamviewer because of its all-around functionality.

There may be some apps out there that can deliver a higher framerate, or others that don't require a computer-side install, but Teamviewer still wins out because of its versatility, power, and price.

Honorable mentions

Chrome Remote Desktop

+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad
Released: 2015-01-14 :: Category: Game

FREE!

Chrome Remote Desktop is another top contender for remote desktop users. It's free, and allows users to connect to computers where they've installed the Chrome Remote Desktop extension on their Chrome browser, so it's very easy to set up.

The only downside to Chrome Remote Desktop is that it lacks features like file transfer, making it a very good, but lightweight remote desktop app.

Remote Desktop - RDP Lite

+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad
Released: 2019-02-03 :: Category: Game

FREE!

RDP Lite is a pretty remarkable app in the sense that it takes advantage of the built in remote desktop capabilities of Windows, meaning users don't have to install anything on their PC to start connecting to it.

That being said, the app is limited because it is Windows-only and doesn't support home versions of the Windows operating system.

Remote Desktop Mobile

+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad
Released: 2013-10-18 :: Category: Game

FREE!

Windows Remote Desktop is another quality option for Windows-only folks. It's a little more user-friendly than something like RDP Lite, but lacks some of features like wake on LAN.

If you don't want to think much about accessing your PC or installing anything, Windows Remote Desktop has got you covered.
