If you’re a musician who finds note reading tricky, Note Fighter might just be for you. Developed by Warsaw-based studio MythicOwl, the app transforms your mobile device into a piano, and note reading into a game. With the latest update, there’s some festive cheer thrown in, too.

Note Fighter’s gameplay is easy to pick up. You play the one-octave piano by tapping the keys as notes appear on the staves above. The notes scroll towards Steamy, the steampunk conductor, and it’s up to you to play the correct key at the correct time so Steamy can kick the notes out of the way with his shiny metallic boots.

Musical pieces available include classics by Mozart, Beethoven and Pachelbel, and there are three difficulty levels to choose from based on how challenging the musical pieces are. There’s also a practice mode to get to grips with the game.

With this latest update, all that steampunk metal has become a little frosty, and there are decorations dotted around the app, including on Steamy’s head. There are a few new Christmas tunes to play, too, including Quickly On To Bethlehem and We Wish You A Merry Christmas.

Why not tinkle those digital ivories this Christmas? Note Fighter is available for iOS and Android. The free version includes 9 songs, whilst the premium version features 18 songs.
