Animal Crossing is still coming to mobile in 2017, according to aWaypointinterview with Nintendo. Announced in 2016, the game was delayed without a defined release window. However, fans of Nintendo's fantasy slice of life game won't have to wait much longer.

Nintendo fans were pretty let down by the lack of Animal Crossing news at E3 earlier this month. Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo America told Waypoint that the company opted to set the Nintendo Switch as their E3 focus, considering it's the first year for Nintendo's newest console.

With that said, Fils-Aime says that the team is still hard at work on Animal Crossing mobile. "Animal Crossing development continues quite strongly, the teams are very excited about what they have," he told Waypoint's& Austin Walker.

Animal Crossing is expected to go mobile later this year. Expect more information in the coming months.
