+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad

Ace of Arenas is a mobile MOBA that's been built from the ground up with its chosen platform in mind.

For a start, the touchscreen controls don't try and simulate mouse play. So, instead of tapping the screen to move your character and use your skills, you use your thumb and perform a series of swipes.

It's also much faster in pace thanks to the new Fast and Furious Mode, which grants you super buffs and increased movement speed to ensure matches last under 10 minutes.

We reached out to Gaea Mobile's Jason Dahlberg to learn more about the development of Ace of Arenas, and how the developer managed to so successfully port the MOBA experience onto mobile.

What do you think Ace of Arenas offers that you can’t get from any other title on the App Store?

"Most MOBAs on mobile require constant taps to simulate mouse controls, while our unique control system allows you to move with ease using only your thumb and swipes.

"We've also got over 50 champions to choose from and over five different maps to play on.

"We want to incorporate a competitive experience not only in our casual modes but also in the larger 5v5 ranked mode."

What challenges did you face during development, and how did you overcome them?

"It was a challenge to compact such a massive experience onto a mobile.

"Being able to develop ways players can easily access all of the aspects of a MOBA in their hands made it an exciting challenge to take on."

Which part of Ace of Arenas are you personally the most proud of and why?

"The variety of our champion pool and how each of their cosmetics brings something a little different to each character. Not only can you get skins for each champion but you can also collect weapon skins for more customization in game.

"Overall the customisation of champion aesthetics, unique champion talent trees, and champion gem pages add so many features to personalise your gaming experience."

Do you have anything planned in terms of future updates for the game and, if so, can you give us any details of what these might include?

"We have worked really hard on establishing the backbone for our competitive community in Ace of Arenas, and we've got some exciting new features in store.

"We'll be introducing a Pro League for our competitive players, more UI features, and an even larger pool of champions to choose from."

Have you any plans to bring the game to any other mobile platforms such as Windows Phone, or Steam?

"Ace of Arenas is out right now on iOS and Android, so for the time being we are not looking into other platforms. But who knows what the future holds."
