I'm a middle-aged ER doc with a passion for the iPhone and the apps that make it great. Reviewing for 148apps, I now have a legitimate excuse for why it's is always in my hand!
A singularly-minded iPhone application that does one thing well, One Tap Dial is my life preserver in a sea of generic, boring and sometimes expensive speed dial applications.
Docked on a nightstand or desk, your iPhone makes for the perfect digital photo frame. DreamStream greatly enhances viewable photo sources by accessing pictures from MobileMe, Facebook albums and Flickr tags among others. Even your friends' photos aren'

After checking out this utility from Infinity Labs I was compelled to write a quick and dirty review---it's simply too awesome to keep to myself. Mover allows you to send pictures and contacts to the iPhone or iPod touch sitting right next to you. There is no required pairing; each device simply opens the Mover application and they recognize each other over a shared wifi network. You then choose a picture or contact to send, swipe in the direction indicated on the screen and the item appears on the other device. That's it! Mover even saves the contact or picture in the appropriate application for you. Also, when you delete items from Mover's screen it does not delete the photo or contact from your iPhone, only from the app itself.
Mover allows the direct sharing of items that might usually require a sync or more cumbersome file transfer. I have found it to be stable and flawless in its execution thus far. My wish for a next version would be the ability to send more than one item at a time. Mover is open-source software, so who knows what enhancements may be in store. I encourage you to check it out, especially at its current price.
This somewhat overhyped location-based coupon application has a fantastic, forward-thinking concept. Unfortunately it doesn't have much to offer users at the current time.
The newest entry into the crowded field of conversion utilities is from the developers at Tapbots. That alone is worthy of our attention and Convertbot does not disappoint.
With Flixster you can watch movie trailers, view listings for your favorite theaters or check DVD release dates. Now you can also rate movies and share information with friends through Facebook. And they say there's no such thing as free popcorn.
While we all have interesting daily events that we would like to remember, most of us gave up our diaries and journals long ago. Billed as "the weightless pocket diary", Memiary allows us to record these events on the go.
If you find yourself in iPhone To Do list purgatory, caught between the various spartan listing apps and complex life-managers, this beautiful and highly functional new event manager may be just what you've been looking for.
This neat photo editing application lets you selectively highlight areas of your photos with color. It produces such nice results with so little effort that you may actually find yourself putting photos onto your iPhone just to use it!
This matching game for preschoolers offers toddlers a fun and different way to learn to identify animals, shapes and colors while offering parents a (possibly) welcome, if not temporary, reprieve.
Perennially one of the most popular downloads from the App Store, Lose It ! is a beautiful, intuitive and complete nutritional database and statistic tracker. The fact that it is available for free is icing on an already well baked cake, so to speak.
Totomi is an action-oriented stacking game that offers great graphics and surprisingly addicting intricate gameplay for something that, on the surface, may seem like another cute (read: boring) puzzler.
