Sunless Sea, Failbetter Games' dark and gloomy sea explorer, sets sail for the iPad tomorrow. Ahead of the game's launch, Failbetter took to Twitter to discuss what will be different in the mobile version of the game. Many of the changes make navigation and battle much easier when relying on touch controls. Let's take a look, shall we?

Players can choose between two different touch control schemes when playing on iPad, and you can switch between them at any time by simply going into the settings menu. To accomodate the switch from mouse and keyboard, the ship will now only have one speed setting for forward, stasis, and reverse movement.

In battle, things will be a bit more manageable, as your ship can now autofire. All you need to do is guide the ship around enemies with a swipe of your finger. You also won't need to maintain resources for your prow light, which will never run out of fuel.

It's no easy task bringing a PC strategy game to mobile, and Failbetter had to make some changes to controls to streamline Sunless Sea for mobile. We'll find out how that all pans out tomorrow.
