Plants vs. Zombies Celebrates its Sixth Birthday with a New Feature, Gems, and World Keys

It's pretty wild to think that the Plants vs. Zombies series has been around for six years already. To celebrate this mildly unconventional milestone, Popcap is giving players some free stuff in Plants vs. Zombies 2. Because they got the whole "birthday gifts" thing backwards. I blame the zombies.

To start with, all Plants vs. Zombies 2 players are getting a free world key. On top of that, the game is having an ongoing, 10 day long "Birthdayz" event that runs from now through May 14 and guarantees gems with every win. It also gives players the opportunity to win five different collectible costumes that are only available through the event - including party hats, Bonk Choy bowties, and more. And finally, players can use the new Travel Log to find destinations they might have missed out on.
