It's Thursday, and here at 148's spacious office that can only mean one thing - it's time to round up all of the best games that have landed on the App Store this week. There's a few here, and I reckon there's going to be something for pretty much everyone on the list.

Especially if you're a fan of classic adventure games. More on that later though. Download links are included, should you wish to flit off to the App Store and pick up a game ASAP. And if you think we've missed anything, feel free to shout about it in the comments down there at the bottom of the article.

Ava Airborne - download for iOS

A lovely looking little arcade game that's all about taking to the skies. Simple controls allow you to traverse through gorgeous worlds, earning new equipment while you do. It's sweet in all the right ways, and while it might not have the most staying power, it's definitely going to keep you entertained in short burts.

Trick Shot 2 - download for iOS

Twang a ball into a box. If that sounds simple, it's because it is. But the game starts to throw spanners into its own workings pretty early on. You need to bounce your ball off surfaces, push switches, and hit moving targets. This is the sort of simple, fun, ten second game that mobile was made for.

MLB Manager 2018 - download for iOS

The latest in the baseball management series has made its way to iOS. It's every bit as in-depth and tactical as you're hoping it's going to be as well. Take over a team and use everything at your disposal to lead them to the top. If you're a fan of the sport, or you just love managing things, you're going to lap this one up.

The Pillars of the Earth - download for iOS

The first of two old school adventure games that have landed this week. This one's based on the book of the same name by Ken Follett, but it lets you influence the events of the novel and change some outcomes. It's set in 12th century England, and the epic story takes in war, love, and conspiracies.

Simon the Sorcerer - download for iOS

The other classic adventure game out this week. It's a different beast to The Pillars of the Earth though. Here you're playing a slightly useless wizard who ends up on a quest in a fantasy world filled with hilarious characters. It's just as funny as it used to be, and if you like this one, you'll be glad to hear its sequel has also made it to mobile too.

Uncivil War - download for iOS

A TCG set during a fictional civil war. The aim of the game is to defeat your opponent, and you do that with simple card-based combat. You can add to your deck as you play, and upgraded cards have special moves that can turn the tide of a battle. It might not be the most complex card game, but there are subtle layers of strategy here.

Woodways - download for iOS

A puzzler that's all about getting cute animals from A to B. The twist is you're controlling a whole bunch of animals at the same time. And because they're all different, you're going to have to figure out how to get them all to safety. It's fun, it'll probably make you scratch your head, and did I mention it was full of cute animals?

Oil - download for iOS

An interesting looking digital board game that's all about mining for oil. You play against an AI or real-life opponent, and need to exploit the land to get the black gold flowing in your direction. Challenging and intelligent, there's a lot here to like. An awesome soundtrack is just the icing on the cake.
