J’s Crab Shack, located in Hartford, CT, features a fresh fish market, seafood restaurant and bar, offering both the option to eat in or take out. Our fresh market features fresh fillets, shrimp and shellfish, live lobsters and snow crab clusters as well as prepared items including crab cakes and stuffed clams. Our extensive restaurant menu includes all the bounty the ocean has to offer. Whether fried, steamed, baked or broiled, our simple preparations allow the fresh flavors to truly shine. Start your seafood feast with our clam or seafood chowder, lobster or shrimp bisque, appetizers of clams and oysters on the half shell, mussels in a briny broth, spicy calamari, shrimp cocktail or even more typical bar food. Follow this tasty beginning with one of our freshly prepared salads, burgers or fish sandwiches, lobster or clam rolls, pasta dinners featuring a variety of seafood, steamers, combos and platters. Steak and surf & turf will appeal to the landlubbers among us. Kids’ meals are available for guppies age 12 and under. Our casual “sea shack” atmosphere is highlighted by a colorful undersea mural and a wall-sized tank displaying eels and tropical fish.
