App Description

I have a hard time remembering the names of my students. I always feel bad when I know the student's name is in my brain somewhere but it just won't come out. Compounding the problem is when the student's name isn't English. I don't really want to force the student to adopt an English name... especially when I know I'm going to forget it come next class.

So, I wrote this app. With the class list as a text file, I can quickly prepare the app for class. I can prepare pronunciation cues for unfamiliar names in advance. When I do the roll call for the first time, I can take a photo so the name of the student is firmly attached to a face.

This app also maintains an attendance record and student performance in the class. I also wrote a random student feature. Tap a button and the app gives you a random student. The student is randomly chosen from those students who have been called on the least. It helps me give every student a chance to speak, even the shy ones.
