The Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) is a neurological scale aiming to provide a reliable, objective way of recording the conscious state of a person, both for initial and continuing assessment of the patient, which has a special value in predicting the ultimate outcome.

Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS score) is composed of three tests, namely eye, verbal, and motor response. The highest possible GCS score is 15 (E4V5M6) (fully aware), while the lowest is 3 (E1V1M1) (indicating deep unconsciousness).
