App Description

Now, we release additional software of Soragaki: the version of examinations!!

Soragaki software*, the application software for mastering the stroke order of Chinese characters, has got great praise from its users all over the world. While the software increased its sales, we received a myriad of requests for releasing the version of examinations to check the level of users’ proficiency in Chinese characters. In order to meet those requests, we determined the invention of its additional version and finally reached the stage of introducing our new products to our customers.
*Please check the explanation below to get specific information on the original version of Soragaki software (“About Soragaki software”).

[Functions]
・The product includes all of the Chinese characters that must be learnt in elementary school (1006 words).
・Ten Chinese characters are randomly set for each examination. The Chinese characters that you successfully write will be recorded on your report card.
・On the screen that appears after your finishing each examination, you can review the stroke order of Chinese characters that you fail to write correctly.
・Your rank will be shown on your report card. Furthermore, your rank will be promoted whenever the number of characters that you master reaches the certain numbers.

●In the process of applying for a patent !!
We originally invented “the program of checking Chinese characters”, which distinguishes the three different ways of ending each stroke (Tome, Hane, Harai).* Even if you write letters of various sizes, the program is capable of checking whether or not you rightly write letters. We are now in the middle of acquiring a patent for it.

*Chinese characters have the three different ways of ending each stroke.
1.“Tome” : finishing a stroke with complete stop
2.“Hane” : finishing a stroke with a sharp hook
3.“Harai” : finishing a stroke smoothly without making rapid stop

About Soragaki software (The original version)
Soragaki software, the application software for mastering the stroke order of Chinese characters, has been invented for elementary school students to learn both right stroke order and the form of Chinese characters by tracing over model characters on the screen of tablet computers such as iPhone and iPad with a stylus pen or fingers. We, Bunkeido,Inc., as the leading publishing company that develops and publishes a variety of educational materials, put our valuable knowhow in this product and succeeded in adding the unprecedented function to it. As a result, elementary school students can master not only correct stroke order and the form of Chinese characters but also the appropriate way of finishing each stroke.
Traditionally, the word “Soragaki” means a method used to teach children correct stroke order and the form of Chinese characters. When translating “Soragaki” into English, one can translate the word as “writing in the sky”. As this translation shows, “Soragaki” is a dynamic method to give the discipline of writing Chinese characters to its learners. This time, we made a success in replicating the features of “Soragaki” in a tablet computer. Mastering right stroke order leads to the acquisition of ability to write in a good hand. At the same time, students are likely to enjoy studying Chinese characters, which are new to them, without any mental suffering.
