App Description

An accelerometer based knee goniometer. The application measures tibial inclination and then calculates the knee flexion angle using a trigonometric equation. See www.ockendon.net for details. Eliminates the difficulties of palpating boney landmarks in the femoral segment which result from the cross sectional anatomy. Key assumptions are (a) Morphologically typical adult patient (b) Horizontal supine posture (c) predictable ratio of length femure:tibia.

The application is dependant on a one-off calibration against any (fairly) flat surface.

The application is provided as-is without any waranty of any kind. The work to validate this against a convential goniometer is still in progress.
