App Description

The Sampling app aids users in assessing disease incidence through sequential sampling plans.

Users select the disease, goals of sampling, and precision or threshold desired. The user can precisely choose the location of the field on a map. To enable sampling, the users can select the number of diseased leaves at each sampling unit.

The app will inform the real-time incidence and if the information collected is enough to make a decision about the sampling procedure. At each sampling unit assessed, the app will run the pathosystem-specific algorithms and make a decision when to keep or stop sampling based on the goals and parameters selected. The sequential sampling plans algorithms were developed using the information on the spatial distribution of diseases published in science-based journals.

The results of the assessments are automatically saved in the dashboard and may be sent (.csv) by e-mail or shared to other apps or recipients.

Instructions for using the app are provided on the About screen, and specific instructions for assessing diseases are on the Start Sampling screen.

The Sampling app was produced by Cornell University, Geneva, NY, USA.
