Mathematics is critical to children’s educational success and “Treasure Adventure: Numeracy” helps to develop a fundamental math ability. In the app, number sense is a rewarding adventure.

► Basic numerical concepts are scaffolded using self-paced math questions that increase in challenge as the child increases in skill.
► Immediate feedback is provided, and in-game rewards are given to encourage
progression.
► The app is aligned well with the concept of magnitude understanding.
► The app helps kids develop numeracy by teaching magnitude understanding. Kids learn
about the size of numbers (how big is 76 really) by repetitively comparing numbers of
different sizes; numbers and dots; and two sets of dots.
► Researchers, who are experts in mathematical cognition and educational technology,
helped to design the app following an evidence-based theoretical framework that enhance
kid’s core math skills.
► By tapping the numbers, kids experience getting correct answers in a meaningful way.
