Mirion Technologies (Canberra) is developing, in cooperation with AiNT, an Advanced Sectorial Gamma Scanner (ASGS) to meet the requirements of state of the art waste characterization.
Advantages of ASGS are:
· Accurate activity determination
· Analysis of inhomogeneous activity distributions
· Lower uncertainties in comparison to standard
gamma scanner
· Conformity to DIN ISO 11929
ASGS reduces conservative activity overestimations and will therefore reduce costs for waste management and disposal.
