App Description

The ASWB Master of Social Work (MSW) examination is a test designed to measure the minimum competency acceptable to practice social work within a given scope of practice.

The MSW exam includes 150 scored questions and 20 nonscored “pretest” questions.

ASWB develops and maintains four categories of social work licensure examinations: Bachelors, Masters, Advanced Generalist, and Clinical. Not every jurisdiction uses all four categories, so candidates must be sure to check with their individual boards to find out which examinations are appropriate for the jurisdiction in which they are seeking licensure.

The ASWB exams are all pass/fail exams developed to measure minimum competency in social work practice. Pass points range from 93-106 correct items and individual states and provinces regulate social work professionals on different scales.
